Breaking Down Barriers (BDB102) In-House Training
This course will raise the delegate’s awareness of diversity and explore manifestations of prejudice and discrimination.
Course Duration: 1/2 day
Target Audience:
Staff from all teams who wish to raise their knowledge of Diversity issues.
Aim:
To enable delegates to create a positive working environment which is inclusive of all and recognises the importance of difference and working together.
Objectives:
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Define what is meant by the term diversity.
- Recall the difference between prejudice and discrimination.
- Recognise the effects that being a member of a minority can have on an individual.
Delegates will be given the opportunity to consider the personal impact their behaviour in the workplace can have on colleagues. They will discuss the difficulties around truly empathising with an individual who has different characteristics to themselves and consider the benefits of working together both for the individual and the organisation.
